A look back on Bruins Stanley cup run

Last week marked the one-year anniversary of the Bruins winning the Stanley cup for the first time in 39 years. Despite the B’s bowing out of the playoffs early I thought it would be cool to go back and tell everyone my top ten moments of that magical run. Each moment will have a link so you can relive the play as it happened a year ago.

10. David Krejci playoff hat trick
It was a pivotal game six in Tampa Bay and the Bruins had a chance to close out the Lightning. They ended up losing, but the lone bright spot was top-line center, David Krejci scoring a hat trick on the road.

9. Tyler Seguin 4-point performance
With center Patrice Bergeron, youngster Tyler Seguin finally got a taste of NHL playoff action. In his second career playoff game, Seguin scored two goals and two assists to put the Bruins on top over the Tampa Bay Lightning in game two.

8. Brad Marchand’s spectacular shorthanded goal
The intense game three against the Canucks in the finals saw the Bruins with an 8-1 win. One goal that stands out from that game is Brad Marchand’s shorthanded goal to put the Bruins up 3-0.

5. Nathan Horton game 7-overtime winner
With the game tied 4-4 going into overtime, Bruins fans stomach churned at the thought of the Bruins getting knocked out of the playoffs yet again. But playoff hero Nathan Horton had other plans

4. Another Nathan Horton game-seven winner
With one of the hardest fought, defensive games I have ever seen, the Bruins came out big in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 1-0 win. Late in the third period the Bruins finally found the back of the net when who else but Nathan Horton scored. The Bruins would win the game 1-0.

3. Monkey off their backs
One year before the eventual sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers the Bruins lost too them in the most historic comeback in NHL history. In 2010 the Bruins had a commanding 3-0 lead but the Flyers fought back winning the series 4-3. The Bruins wouldn’t let that happen again, sweeping the Flyers in four games.

2. Tim Thomas save of the season
With the Bruins 2-1 in game five of the semi finals against the Lightning, goalie and eventual conn smythe winner, Tim Thomas, made a miraculous save making sure the bruins would get the win.

1. Winning the Stanley cup
Well this was a no-brainer. Had to come to game seven, which is life for Boston fans. The Bruins would win 4-0 lead by Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron.
